Home Sick : Being Black in America

“Dear Lord can you hear me,
Tell me what to say to my unborn seed in case I pass away,
Will my child get to feel love?
Or our we all just cursed to be street thugs,
                                 Cause being black hurts”
                             - Tupac Shakur

Is being black a gift or a curse?   Maybe that depends on your geographic location, because ever since the first slave ships from Africa reached the shores of North and South America, Blacks have been tremendously oppressed, maliciously raped, murdered and severely brainwashed.  Some will say, But brother, look at our progress in this Great land, we can vote, get rich, prosper, and by the way, our commander in chief is an African American.  Yes our president is black BUT…
In 2008 and 2009, gun homicide was the leading cause of death among black teens.  Young black males die from gun violence at a rate 2.5 times higher than Latino males, and eight times higher than white males. http://www.blackyouthproject.com/2012/03/report-gun-homicide-is-the-leading-cause-of-death-among-black-teens/ Also our president’s hometown of Chicago in 2013 led the nation in homicides with more than 500 black teen killings.
Yes our president is black BUT...
black men  make up 40% of the almost 2.1 million male inmates in jail or prison (U.S. Department of Justice, 2009),  but we are less than 15% of the American population, Census data for 2000 of the number and race of all individuals incarcerated in the United States revealed a wide racial disproportion of the incarcerated population in each state: the proportion of blacks in prison populations exceeded the proportion among state residents in twenty states; the percent of blacks incarcerated was five times greater than the resident population.
This blog is my no means an attack on President Obama, but is a reminder of OUR present situation and condition in this country of the United States.  America is a vast melting pot of races, cultures, religion and traditions; you have folks from Europe, Asia, Mexico, South America, Latin America and Africa.  In this land of free trade and capitalism, and a black president...
black Americans make up 35% of this country’s poverty-stricken people, yet our race was the hugest contributor to America’s success of becoming a great nation.  What is the disconnect amongst our people;what prevents us from acheiving unity and overall prosperity (sound mind and joy, not material wealth).

Enter The African Holocaust

In this discussion on the plight of African Americans lets first dismiss the down playing of the "Transatlantic African Slave Trade", that term in it self is an insult to injury; The atrocity the world witness between the 15th century into the 19th century was not a "trade" but a "holocaust" or "mass-killing" in every sense of the words. Unlike most of the slavery prior to this, it was directed towards a particular race of people who would be treated less than human or even less than the mangiest dogs.
Some Jews would like that word holocaust only to be used to describe their brutal unjust history, BUT for visual sake, lets compare some facts about both genocides.
  • The Jewish Holocaust begin in 1933 and lasted to 1945 (12 years)

  • The African Holocaust begin in 1450 and lasted to roughly 1850 (400 years)

  •  An estimated 6 million Jews were violently killed during the holocaust.

  • It is estimated that 40 -100 million people were directly affected by slavery via the Atlantic, Arabian and Trans-Saharan routes. Some historians conclude that the total loss in persons removed, those who died on the arduous march to coastal slave marts and those killed in slave raids, exceeded the 65–75 million inhabitants remaining in Africa at the trade's end. Over 10 million died as direct consequences of the Atlantic slave trade alone. But no one knows the exact number: Many died in transport, others died from diseases or indirectly from the social trauma left behind in Africa. http://www.africanholocaust.net/html_ah/holocaustspecial.htm

So it is a FACT that more black lives were KILLED on the ride here to America then the entire 12 years of the Jewish Holocaust.  Just imagine there were an estimated 10 million kidnapped slaves who were tossed into the bitter freezing waters of the Atlantic almost 400 years before the Jewish Holocaust even began; this single act of genocide would have alone drastically affected any race of people for generations to follow.  But it didn't stop there, because after that slaughter followed 400 years of slavery in the building of America, Jim Crow and many more conspiracies such as Eugenics, the industrial prison complex, the Tuskegee Experiment and Biological (aids, ebola, etc).  I choose not to focus on these abuses that were suffered but I would be remiss not to bring attention to some of the reasons why we are in our current circumstances; A lot of us are lost, confused, alone and without hope.  But our history is rich with greatness, promise, victory and an abundance of knowledge.

The Mis-Education of a Powerful people...

Dr. Carson Woodson wrote in his groundbreaking literary art, The Mis-Education of the Negro,
"If you can control a man's thinking you do not have to worry about his action. When you determine what a man shall think you do not have to concern yourself about what he will do. If you make a man feel that he is inferior, you do not have to compel him to accept an inferior status, for he will seek it himself. If you make a man think that he is justly an outcast, you do not have to order him to the back door. He will go without being told; and if there is no back door, his very nature will demand one.”
Since we have landed on the shores of America, we as a people have been stripped of who we are (our culture, language and education).  When one group kidnaps and enslaves another, the oppressor wants to fully own his slave's mind, body and soul.  So he must first disconnect that group from it's identity.  This is often done my propaganda and the reprogramming of the slave's mind.  So if we have been "retaught" with  the lies, deceit and corruption of our oppressor how can we grow and elevate to God's purpose as a man,a community or as a race.  Answer is "WE CAN'T", because our oppressor has divided us, in order to conquer us.
Whether the "Willie Lynch Letter" was fact or myth shouldn't concern you; question should be,were the methods being described in this letter used by slave owners and are they affecting black Americans today.  I'm here tell you the answer is YES and YES.  There's certain terms we have to research to understand whats really going on around us and how they have broken us down and why its so hard for us to get back up.  A lot of our governments Psychological warfare stems from the same tactics used by Adolf Hitler and his murderous regime, the nazis, who had over 600 mind and weapons scientists that our government collected and put to work in colleges, universities, companies and important agencies such as the CIA and NASA.
Do me a big favor and research "PROJECT PAPERCLIP".  If you dig deep enough it will blow your mind and also answer a lot of your questions you have about this sleep induced ignorant and brainwashed society we live in.

When We Were Kings

Unknown to many in the educated world. The first University in the world was the Sankore University in Timbuktu, capital of Mali.  Read more: http://newsrescue.com/worlds-first-university-timbuktu/#ixzz3N7HMiOvb.  This university drawn to it different races and cultures from India, Rome and Greece.  One of its later founders was a great African king named, Mansa Musa, who was recently put on Forbes' Richest People of all time...

The 14th century emperor from West Africa was worth a staggering $400 billion, after adjusting for inflation, as calculated by Celebrity Net Worth. To put that number into perspective -- if that's even possible -- Net Worth's calculations mean Musa's fortune far outstrips that of the current world's richest man Carlos Slim Helu and family. According to Forbes, the Mexican telecom giant's net worth is $69 billion. Slim edges out the world's second wealthiest man, Bill Gates, who is worth $61 billion, according to Forbes.  Musa is just one of the thousands of rich, powerful and brilliant kings and queens from the bountiful continent of Africa.  Hannibal Barca of Carthage is still the world's greatest military mind to ever walk this planet...ROME FEARED HIM.. yes a BLACK MAN.  Hannibal had 80,000 infantry, 12,000 cavalry, and 40 African war elephants. He conquered major portions of Spain and France, and all of Italy, except for Rome.

So how do the most powerful, intelligent, resourceful and prosperous people on the planet, go from this...

  1. This is absolutely brilliant! You nailed it! From beginning to the end I was engaged and it all came together. It shows who we are as a people and how somewhere along the generations we have lost our way. Shaun Banks you are that shinning light to lead us back to the right path.....There is so much greatness in you.
